For the first time in years, my family was going to be spending some time apart. I decided to create an illustrated calendar, where I tell stories and share some of my favorite moments with them. It was a Christmas gift, so that way we could all feel connected and stay together once more.

Sara Iraburu / Buru!


I'm Sara Iraburu, a visual artist from Pamplona/Iruña (Spain), currently working between Dublin and Navarra under the name BURU!—my personal artistic identity and creative platform. My work focuses on illustration, graphic design, and visual storytelling, with a strong emphasis on emotion, connection, and narrative. I approach each project as a process of listening and observation—whether it’s a conversation, a place, or a fleeting moment—and translate those impressions into visual pieces that feel honest and human. BURU! represents my commitment to hand-crafted, thoughtful art that resonates on a deeper level, from children’s books and editorial illustration to posters, prints, and collaborative projects. Nature, human connection, and the quiet power of stories are constant sources of inspiration in my practice, and I’m passionate about creating work that invites empathy and understanding through visual language.
